I Have Slayed the Dragon!! (Well, Not Really)

I finally finished Eragon!!! The end was good and that's about all I can say in the realm of positive comments. I seriously doubt I will be reading the other two books. Maybe when I've run out of other stuff to read (not likely). The book was about 200 pages too long in my opinion. I could have used a lot more editing. There were very long sections of book where they were just riding horses in a valley or a desert. It took a very long time for anything to actually happen. This is one of the few cases in which I think the movie is better than the book. The story just flowed better and at a more consistent pace in the movie. It took forever for the author to just get Saphira out of her egg in the book!!! Thankfully, my next book is already much better and I'm only about 40 pages into it! I just started reading The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. So far, it is very good and according to my husband, it's going to get even better!!
